Torch Run

Last Saturday we participated in the Special Olympics Torch Run that is sponsored by the law enforcement agencies across the state. The weather ended up being beautiful for event, even though it had been raining for two days prior and started raining again on the drive home. We walked it as a family. Logan was in the monkey pouch and although we brought the stroller, Micaiah walked almost the entire 3 miles, only riding in the stroller long enough to eat a little bit of his lunch. One of the Trooper sargeants let Micaiah walk his pug, Hector, who had also come to waddle along. It was his first time getting to walk a dog all by himself, since Bella tends to just pull him over, and he was so excited. At the end of the run Logan won a prize for being the youngest participant (Micaiah picked out a baseball keychain for him), and Micaiah got a new Sesame street book with all his favorite monsters in it. It was a good day.
