Photo Smorgasbord

Here is a post that I started so long ago that any news that went with it is now extremely out of date. So here are just a few pictures instead. They are from the end of March through April.

Spring Fashions

Here's Micaiah sporting the his version of the latest spring fashions (selected entirely by himself).

First up: Dada's Socks (He wore these for the entire day and cried when we took them off for bed. He also had them on his hands as gloves for an evening as well, but alas no pictures).

Next: The Spring Hat Collection (Apparently since one hat is fun, two is even better!)

And Finally: Momma's High Heels (Frog boots or heels... How does one choose?)

PRAYER REQUEST

We received the heavy news today that Mike's mom, Mary, has cancer. She heads to the Mayo Clinic on Sunday for further consultation/testing. Please pray for healing, strength, and peace; wisdom for the doctors; and that our sovereign God be glorified through this process.

Playing Catch Up

It has been a long time since our last post. A lot has happened since January and a lot has changed. We were spent almost the entire month of February out of state on a recruitment trip for Mike. We were able to combine the trip with some vacation time and visited a lot of family and friends. It was wonderful to see everyone again and Micaiah especially enjoyed playing with his cousins. Upon arriving home we began moving into the new caretaker's apartment that was completed while we were gone. It has been a very long and slow move as we are sifting through all the junk that we have stored for years and making it fit in a much smaller space. We are really excited to be in our new place though. Everything is new and sparkly and the layout is very efficient and works well for our family. I'll try to post some pics when we finally finish moving in. Spring seems to at last be on its way and most of our snow is gone. We have had several sunshiny days lately which make even the mud of breakup season feel less mucky. Mixed in with the mud (of which we have a lot due to all of the winter construction) is ash from the Mt. Redoubt eruptions, which results in a big nasty mess. Keeping the new apartment clean is next to impossible, especially with a big, hairy, and now muddy/ashy dog, but nicer weather means we can start thinking about planting some grass which will help enormously. Mike keeps longingly eyeing his boat and is itching to get it in the water. He can't wait to teach the boy how to fish. Micaiah is getting so big and changing so fast. He is incredibly silly and brings us so much joy. He is talking and understanding so much more now. And even sleeping a tiny bit better! He still adores his hound and the two of them cause quite a bit of mischief together. All said, life is good, and the Lord is gracious. More soon...
